Jing Yaa Tang at The Opposite House, Beijing has been awarded a Michelin star in the inaugural Michelin Guide Beijing 2020.

“Receiving a star from the Michelin guide is one of the greatest acknowledgements a restaurant can receive, and we are very honoured to have taken part in Beijing’s first Michelin Guide award. It is a testament to the dedication of our chef, Li Dong and the team in Jing Yaa Tang that they have been awarded this accolade. Pushing limits, testing uncharted waters and always with our guests in mind is how The Opposite House creates thought provoking experiences. And we are definitely excited to do more. ” says Mark Passmore, General Manager of The Opposite House.

Jing Yaa Tang first opened its doors in 2013 and immediately became a favorite in the city for its Peking Duck and authentic regional takes on Chinese cuisine. Set within a striking contemporary Chinoiserie theatrical style design, the restaurant has a total of 155 seats and is open for lunch and dinner. Its interior also opens into a central social dining space or “Tang”, which is taken from the literal Chinese translation of hall.

“I am truly honoured to receive this award which is a milestone in my 20-year culinary career,” says Executive Chinese chef Li Dong “This is a wonderful recognition of our entire team’s hard work and we will strive to ensure that Jing Yaa Tang continues to provide an exceptional dining experience for our guests.”
