2018-11-28

Beijing World Park is a national 4A-level scenic spot which pools 109 miniatures of famous landmarks from 40 countries and regions in the world, such as the Great Pyramids in Egypt, Tower Bridge in London, the Eiffel Tower in Paris the White House in America, the Sydney Opera Theater in Australia and some Italian or Japanese styles dwellings.. It was officially open to visitors on October 25, 1993.

17 scenic spots are designated to show the sceneries in Eastern Europe, Western Europe, Northern Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Oceania, West Asia, East Asia, South Asia and other regions. The water system was built to pass through the whole park according to the shape of the four oceans. Every classic building is built with exquisite crafts such as copper carving and casting, gilding, gold plating and wood carving to ensure that they completely mimic the original style and features. Nearly a hundred of sculptures and statues are vividly carved  in the park, including the American Statue of Liberty, Copenhagen’s Little Mermaid, Michelangelo’s David, and the Venus de Milo, the statue of Chopin and the statue of Mozart, bearing exact resemblance to the original heroes.

The park has now become a name card of Beijing to create a multi-cultural city. In recent years, Beijing World Park has shifted its focus from the original static miniature landscape to the dynamic performing arts. In the summer, floats and various cabaret performances are quite often held in the park. Although it is winter, there are also super cute elephant shows. The Thai elephant performance in the World Park is very popular among children. A host of interactive activities such as elephants spinning hula hoops, walking on a single-log bridge, playing football and forest disco as well as feeding elephants with bananas, bring endless joy to the children.
