Ningyuan, originally known as Beining Park, was originally built by Yuan Shikai (President of the Republic of China) in Tianjin. One-third of the park is water. One of its main attractions is the Grand View Tower (Changguanlou), a building of unique style built on the water. There are also pavilions and corridors around the lake.

Scenery here are quite pleasing in summer, especially the lotus blossom. Hehua Lansheng Scenic Spot that boasts graceful lotus-carpeted lakes is the most fascinating. Verdant leaves, dotted with roseate lotus blossoms, interweave a fine picture which attracts viewers drinking in its beauty.
