Daxing District abounds in greenery and is famous for its ecological agriculture but less for tourism. It is south of the suburb of Beijing and about 10 km from Tian'anmen. The fifth and sixth ring roads run through Daxing from east to west and the prolongation of the city's South Axial Road from north to south. The Beijing-Tianjin-Tanggu Expressway, Beijing-Kaifeng Expressway and the No. 104 national road cross the district.

The area of Daxing is about 1.012 km² with a population of 965.600 citizens.

In Daxing you can find ecological sites, like Beijing Fishing Park, Horse Riding Park and Beijing Wildlife Park. Around the new towns in the courtyards,there is an expansive field and greenbelt. Yongding River,the mother river of Beijing,runs 120 Chinese li in Daxing. Daxing is far away from the city's noise and covered with verdant trees.

What's more, the city infrastructure becomes more compete and perfect. The New City, the political, economic and cultural center of Daxing District, will be built up as a new developing district of modernized international metropolis Beijing.

Cultural Daxing

Daxing was established as a county in the Qin Dynasty and got its name in the Jin Kingdom. It has been an important town adjacent to the Capital for more than 800 years. It was historically called"No. 1 County in the world".

Located at the axis of the imperial city as southern gate, Daxing has rich cultural content and inherited a long history of civilization.
