Fangshan UNESCO Global Geopark of China

Located about 40km southwest of Beijing, Fangshan UNESCO Global Geopark crosses Fangshan District of Beijing and Laishui and Laiyuan counties of Baoding, Hebei Province. The park integrates mountains, rivers, forests, caves, temples, hoodoos, canyons, remains of ancient human and animals, karst landform in the north, underground karst caves, Yanshan inland orogenic belts, and rich cultural deposits. It is a world-class distribution center of geological relics of great scientific significance.

The park covers a total area of 1,045km2 and is divided into eight smaller districts, namely Peking Man Site at Zhoukoudian Science Popularization district, Shihua Karst Cave Group Tourist district, Shidu Karst Canyon Comprehensive Tourist district, Shangfang Mountain-Yunju Temple Religious Culture sightseeing district, Shenglian Mountain Sightseeing & Experience district, Baihua Mountain-Baicaoban Ecotourism district, Yesanpo Comprehensive Tourist district, and Baishi Mountain Jumayuan Peak Cluster Waterfall Tourist district.
