In October, 2018, the most expected and high-profile Houtai Urban Park is open trial. The park, which is officially named "Shuixi Park", is regarded as the "twin sister" of Water Park, forming an echoing pattern of south and west. Tianjin, located at the downstream area of Haihe River, is a city living by water (Shui in Chinese). So, the park is named Shuixi because of the important connotation of water and its location in Jinxi District.
As the largest urban park of Tianjin, Shuixi Park takes the space surrounded by Chunming Road in the east, Baoze West Street and Xiangyi Street in the south, Zhongda Road in the west, Xiangya Street and Xiangze Street in the north.
Forest in Downtown
Variable landform planning of Shuixi Park enriches the stratification of landscapes and provides diversified growing spaces for plants.
Resting and activity sites in distinctive garden style are set up in the east, reflecting the interactions between people and landscape, culture and history; pleasant splendor combined with dense plants and broad pond is right in the middle; the west part is totally a wetland with twisted streams and reed marshes. "Shufan Tai", the peak of the park, is located in the north of the main lake. It is a viewing deck where we can have a panorama of the park.
21 gardens within park
Based on ecological, green, natural, low-carbon and exquisite design ideas, Shuixi Park collects all the advantages of Tianjin garden culture to build 21 new Tianjin style gardens like Ouxiang Xie, Wunan Xiaozhu, Houyue Fang and Shufan Tai, etc.
Fitness Facilities
Shuixi Park is equipped with a 2.5km long footpath around the lake, a 35000sq.m sports garden, 4 five-person football fields, 2 standard basketball courts, 8 mini basketball courts, 2 standard gateball courts, 2 standard tennis courts, 4 tennis cages, as well as 10 fitness sites for different exercises like roller skating and table tennis.
