Shichahai Xihai Wetland Park was open to the public on October 1 and has attracted many visitors during the National Day holiday. The park stretches more than 10 hectares, of which 7.4 hectares are covered by water and 3.5 hectares belong to surrounding greenland. Dozens of aquatic plants like lotus, water lily, calamus and reed grow in the lake and nearly 700 shrubs like pines, willows, mountain peach trees and cherry-apple trees are planted along the lake, making it a new getaway for Beijingers.
