798 Art Zone

Located at No. 4, Jiuxianqiao Road in Chaoyang District, covering 270,000 square meters including 226,000 square meters of building area, the 798 Art Zone integrates industry clusters featuring cultural creation based on Chinese contemporary art. The zone was once an electronic industry base. Since 2001, it has attracted many artists at home and abroad affected by Bauhaus style to settle and develop businesses here attributing to its quiet environment and convenient traffic, which is the earliest example to transform old factories into art use. The zone was once named as one of the Top 22 Cultural and Iconic City Art Centers by the Time.

The Zone embraces galleries, design studios, art exhibition space, artist studios, fashion shops, restaurants and bars featuring cultural and artistic elements. In particular, more than 500 culture and art organizations from 25 countries and regions such as France, Italy, the UK and South Korea, engaged in galleries, studios, animation, film and television media, publishing, design and consultation, including some internationally renowned art institutions like the US Pace Gallery, Ullens Center for Contemporary Art of Belgium, Iberia Art Center of Spain, Denmark Faurschou Gallery, the Seasons Gallery of Singapore, and the Mansudae Art Studio of North Korea. Attracting some 5 million tourists all over the world every year to participate in more than 2,000 art exhibitions and activities held here, 798 Art Zone has become an exhibition center for Chinese contemporary art, an important platform promoting Chinese and foreign culture and art exchanges, and a “name card” as well as a cultural landmark of Beijing.

Jiuchang • ART International Park

This park is built based on a poor managed winery adjacent to the Central Academy of Fine Arts amidst the free artist and art institutions. The advantageous location, expansive old plant buildings and the tranquil and luxuriantly green environment makes it an inspiring place for Art creation and academic development, attracting world-famous galleries like ARARIO Art Space, Jiuyu Jinlaixuan Gallery, NANXI’S ART, Imaginative Art Space and Yuntuan Yingxiang Art Space, interweaving multicultural arts.
