The park is named for the rest place of the emperors. Located in the Fengtai District, west suburb of Beijing, the park is 20km north to the downtown, and is a hilly natural scenic area. It has a red-leave coverage four times that of the Fragrant Hills. Beigong National Forest Park has a colored-leave coverage of 3,000 mu (200 hectares), including a red-leave coverage of 2,100 mu (140 hectares) and others of 900 mu (60 hectares). There are more than 20 tree species, including Acer truncatum, Cotinuscoggygria, Rhustyphina, Koelreuteriapaniculata, Ulmuspumila 'Jinye', Ginkgo biloba, Metasequoiaglyptostroboides, Ligustrumlucidum, Tiliamandshurica, Prunusjamasakura, PrunusCerasifera and Fraxinuschinensis. In autumn, the park is covered by trees of different colors including red, yellow, green and purple, forming a harmonious landscape. Red-leave trees mainly include acertruncatum, Cotinuscoggygria and Rhustyphina, yellow-leave trees mainly include Ginkgo biloba and Metasequoiaglyptostroboides, purple-leave trees mainly include PrunusCerasifera, and green-leave trees mainly include Pinustabuliformis and Platycladusorientalis.

Ticket: 10 yuan in the peak season, from April 1 to November 30.

5 yuan in the off season, from December 1 to March 31.

Traffic Guide: take bus 310 from Fengtai to Xinzhuang, or take bus 385 and get off at the junction of the Seventh Chemical Factory. Or you may take bus 843.
