Caihuoche Restaurant has a simple yet cozy environment. Mainly focusing on the Southwestern Chinese cuisine, the restaurant combines the original sour, spicy and savory tastes with cooking methods of the Thai and Southeastern Asian cuisines to add to the flavors. Moreover, the restaurant has always been contributing to the showing and promotion of independent films, and acts as a pioneer of Chinese folk independent film and in-bar film showing, as well as an early open cultural salon in Beijing. Additionally, many lovers in Beijing had one of their best memories here, as the restaurant also run business including the planning of marriage proposals and wedding banquets.

The representative curtains, the giant orange sofa, and the wall plastered fully with stills…if you are a big fan of the Friends, you should be familiar with these objects that are custom made to imitate those in this TV series, and most customers come here mainly for their love for Friends. As a classic American-style café, the Friends’ Café is a low-key yet cozy existence in the seemingly cold office building, providing an ideal place for classmate and old friend reunions.

The film-themed restaurant located in Nanluogu Xiang means the cinefilm size (16mm), which is normally used for shooting literary films, e.g. those old films. The restaurant consists of two floors, though decorated simply and plainly, it is embellished with film posters everywhere, making it a dream place for film fans. The menu is also filled with “films”, as you can find cuisines named Malèna, Hiroshima Mon Amour, Spring in a Small Town, Late Autumn and Chungking Express here.
