Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall is located at Qianmen East Street, Dongcheng District of Beijing (east to old Beijing Railway Station). It was upgraded based on original structures. With four storeys, the Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall offers exhibition boards, light boxes, models, pictures, sculptures, and 3D movie to showcase the long history of Beijing and the great achievements in urban planning and construction of Beijing.

The four-storey hall has a building area of around 16,000 m2 and an exhibition area of about 8,000 m2. Content of exhibition includes: an exhibition area showing the past and present of ancient Beijing city, an exhibition area showing the protection of Beijing as a historical and cultural city, introduction to previous overall plans of Beijing, central business district, Olympic Central District, and other functional planning and construction exhibition areas. The hall offers around 1,200 photos and text of 100, 000 characters, as well as about 20 promotional videos matching with different exhibition areas, and 44 touch screens for inquiry. The hall employs the latest techniques to
demonstrate Beijing as an ancient city of 3,000-plus years and an ancient capital of 850 years.
