Hand in Hand International Children's Music Festival

2018-05-30

The Hand in Hand International Children's Music Festival is China's first international music festival fit for all family members. It was the brainchild of Rebecca Kanthor, an American journalist working in China and her husband Liu Jian, a Chinese author, musician and magazine editor.

They invite the hottest and coolest bands for kids to China, enabling children to experience live music all over the world and to learn about different cultures through music.

Introduction of the bands:

  • Lucky Diaz & the Family Jam Band(USA)

Lucky Diaz & the Family Jam Band was established by the American couple Lucky and Alisha Diaz, who are the two-time Latin Grammy Award and three-time Emmy Award winners named "the face of kindie music" by The Washington Post, "the rolling stones of kids music" by USA Today, and "superstars" by The New York Times. The PEOPLE magazine hailed their album as "the No. 1 coolest kids' music". Their program for kids "Lishy Lou and Lucky Too" is played on Public Broadcasting Service (PBS, an American public broadcaster and television program distributor), and have won the Grammy Award.

  • Hippe Gasten(The Netherlands)

Hippe Gasten is a rock band for kids. It rigorously creates music for kids, using its creativity to compose music loved by both kids and their parents. It hopes its music, especially as its young fans' first rock concert enjoyed, can leave great memories for the kids. The show is energetic and interactive, with the band members taking kids up onto the stage to show them how to be rock stars. At the end of the show, everyone would be contented, wearing a smile on the face.

Hand in Hand International Children's Music Festival is currently the children's music festival with the highest quality in China. It has set up several unique standards for many details which make the festival children-friendly. The half duration of the performance, for example, is arranged within 35 minutes, and the volume is strictly controlled within 85-90 db, a volume section comfortable for kids. Moreover, the festival also provides Chinese-English bilingual lyrics and interactive translation assistants on the spot, and installs areas for nursing babies and changing diapers for them.
