
Marriott International is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Andrew C. Rogers as the Multi-Property Vice President and General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing. Mr. Rogers will oversee The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing as well as portfolio of luxury hotels for Marriott International in North China.
Mr. Rogers joined Marriott International in 1990, his career started with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company as Director of Golf Operations at The Ritz-Carlton Golf & Spa Resort, Rose Hall, Jamaica in 1999. Mr. Rogers held numerous senior management positions in such locations at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club & Spa, Jupiter, Florida, The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas and The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua. Mr. Rogers served for three years as general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Denver. While in the “Mile-High City” he garnered a reputation for tireless innovation in an already-competitive market, leading hotel to twice receive the AAA Five Diamond Award. It was the first hotel in Denver to earn the accolade, which designates the best lodgings and restaurants in North America. With the proven success, Mr. Rogers started his career journey in China as General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Guangzhou & The Ritz-Carlton Executive Residences Guangzhou in 2012. As a highly visible and well respected business leader in the community, Mr. Rogers was elected as Executive Chairman for The Guangzhou Hotel Association, which represents over 300 hotels in Guangzhou. He has been recognized as The Best Foreign General Manager, China Hotel Golden Horse Award in 2013 and 2014. And hotel was honored with a prestigious Forbes Five-Star Award by Forbes Travel Guide for the first time in Guangzhou. Prior to his appointment in Beijing Central Place, Mr. Rogers has been the General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, Financial Street, awarded as Best General Manager by Hotelier Award 2015 and also the hotel received the twice Five-Star award.
Mr. Rogers has more than twenty years hotel management experience in the industry, he is known for his expertise with hotel openings, leadership development and financial management. “Beijing is a city with pleasant cosmopolitan flair and rich cultural heritage,” says Mr. Rogers, “I will continue to provide the finest personal service and create memorable Ritz-Carlton experiences together with our ladies and gentlemen, enhance the leading position in the market and increase hotel awareness globally.”
Mr. Rogers is a US national, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in marketing degree from Ferris State University, and obtained an EMBA degree with Carlson Business School at the University of Minnesota, Sun Yet San University & Lignan College. Mr. Rogers as a former golf professional, in his leisure, he enjoys playing golf, travelling the world and exploring different cultures with his family.
