Located in Changping District, northern Beijing, Shisanling Reservoir is one of the nearest campsites from the city. The reservoir is situated in the intermountain basin, with towering mountains surrounded, especially Mangshan, a spectacular mountain on the northern bank of the reservoir. The great mountains and the broad water form a scenic landscape, amid which is a sparse forest, with barbeques and leisure chairs set there.
Praised as a “natural oxygen bar”, the reservoir boasts fresh air. The mountains mirror in the water, picturing a landscape painting. At the boundary of mountain foot and the water shapes plenty of branching streams.
In addition to amazing natural scenery, you can also enjoy local food here. The reservoir features farm stays serving well-known Chunbingyan (spring pancake banquet) and Shuikuyu (reservoir fish).
Unlike other crowded places, settling in such a spacious area will bring you good moods and refreshed spirit.
Plenty of avenues inlaid in the scenic landscape, Shisanling Reservoir is a perfect campsite. You would feel satisfied seated in the grass, and being on a spree front of the mountains after propping up your tents, with breeze flicking your faces. If you are an energetic person, you can also take a tour at the Ming Tombs. When overlooking the distance, you will be vibrated by the magnificent landscape painting, particularly the colorful hills rising one after another.
