Tianjin Eye
For many the sky wheel is a romantic destination. The Tianjin Eye, a unique ferris wheel is constructed on a bridge. The colossal bridge-wheel has a diameter of 110 meters and carries 48 transparent passenger capsules attached to its external circumference. Each capsule is available for 8 persons. The wheel can accommodate over 100 people all together.
When the capsule reaches the top of the wheel, visitors can enjoy a commanding view of surrounding landscape, especially the glamorous night scape of Haihe River. The Tianjin Eye is built on Yongle Bridge over the Haihe River. The bridge-and-wheel constitutes a unique vision on the river.
Tianjin Century Clock
At 00:00, January 1, 2001, the beginning of the new century, clear bell rang in front of the Jiefang Bridge in Tianjin. The sound came from a landmark in Tianjin, the Century Clock. The clock, which marked a key moment in history, is situated by the Haihe River in Hebei District, Tianjin, on the west side of Tianjin Station. It is the first attraction visitors will see when they emerge from the station.
The gigantic Century Clock is completely made of metal and visible from afar. It stands 40 meters high, with a diameter of 14.6m, weighing over 170 tons. It is a symbol of the passage of time and the importance of seizing the day.
Tianjin Radio and Television Tower
From the Tianjin Water Park in Hexi District one can behold the Tianjin Radio and Television Tower. It is one of the landmarks in Tianjin as it measures over 400 meters. On the top of the tower visitors can enjoy a superb panorama extending for several miles. It is also a tower rising from water. Like a long sword piercing into the sky, Tianjin Radio and Television Tower presents a majestic and marvelous view.
On top of the tower visitors can see the Tianjin Olympic Center Stadium, nicknamed “Water Drop”, the view of the park, as well as the glittering Haihe River at night.
