Siheyuan, or quadrangle, lies quietly in the shadows of skyscrapers and glass buildings in modern Beijing. For hundreds of years, they have been representative of Beijing's traditional urban culture. They have also witnessed the development of the city.
The exhibition carefully traces the history of quadrangles in Beijing. The highlights go to 17 pieces of old objects and some 200 piece from the local people. By replicating the scene of traditional siheyuan life, along with unique layout, visitors will have a quick glimpse into the capital's century-old buildings and truly experience the idyllic scenery of the old Beijing.
