With the main peak towering as high as 1414 meters at western Miyun District, Yunmeng Mountain is home to grotesque stones, exuberant forest, lakes, waterfalls, wild animal and plant resources. With forest coverage of over 91%, it is hailed as “Little Mount Huang in North China”. The sea of clouds and forests here does rival Mount Huang. With a humid climate characterized by high rainfall, trees here saturated with dewdrops and basking in sunrise and sunset glow is glistening. In autumn, visitors can appreciate the colored leaves here. Apart from ever-changing apricot leaves, there grow aspen, apple trees, pear trees and pine trees, creating a rainbow of gorgeous colors. Moreover, at here visitors can pick up wild kiwifruit, walnut, chestnut, pear, red fruit, mushroom and such for free until late October.
