China Unicom, one of three major telecom providers in China, offers special short-term pricing package for tourists. It definitely facilitates tourists’ internet connection on the mainland. The package comprises three parts, data package, talk & text and direct international calling, the former  being a required start off for any service while the later two are optional. There is no need to cancel your subscription since it gets canceled after 90 days from first use automatically regardless of whether or not any balance remains; unless you purchased “Keep your number” service to extend the validation period.

How to purchase?

• If you are in China:

There are mainly two ways to purchase the card –at a hotel and online. Currently,  the service is not available from resellers at the airport. The online store is most convenient for it can deliver the prepaid SIM cards to your hotel free of charge.
