Beihai Park (北海公园) is a public park and former imperial garden located in the northwestern part of Beijing. First built in the 11th century, it is among the largest of all Chinese gardens and contains numerous historically important structures, palaces, and temples. Since 1925, the place has been open to the public as a park. It is also connected at its northern end to the Shichahai.

Various flowers in the park bloom in all year around that spring flowers show through March to May, lotus flowers are blossom in July and August while chrysanthemum flowers bloom in October and November.

The park has four gates distributing on south, southwest, east and north. Most visitors enter the park through the south gate while some also enter by the north gate.

Bus:

Buses that stop at the north gate: 13, 107, 111, 701, 810, 823, 814. (The stop is Bei hai bei men and 北海北门 in Chinese).

Buses that stop at the south gate: 101, 103, 109, 124, 812, 845. (The stops is Beihai and 北海 in Chinese)

Buses that stop at the east gate: 810, 5. (The stop is Xi Ban Qiao 西板桥 in Chinese)

Subway:

Subway is also available. You can take subway Line 6 and get off at Beihai North Station, then get out by exit B.

Taxi:

You can show the driver “我想去北海南门” or “我想去北海北门”.

April – October: admission hours: 6:30 – 21:00 (Last entry on 20:30)

admission fee: 10 RMB

November – March: admission hours: 6:30 – 20:00 (last entry on 19:30)
