Xian’r Lao Man Serving Palatable Jiaozi

2017-08-22

In Beijing, Xian’r Lao Man is a restaurant specializing in Jiaozi and enjoys the same reputation as Baoyuan Jiaoziwu, which we introduced before. The name of the restaurant means “the fillings of jiaozi are really full” in Beijing dialect. The chubby jiaozi is filled with a variety of ingredients including pork, shrimp, egg and leek. The most popular one is the vegetable jiaozi. Besides jiaozi, the restaurant also features old Peking flavors such as Zhang Guan Chang (sticky rice with sweet fillings), Kun Pao Chicken. The price is reasonable at below 2 RMB each (20 jiaozi are enough for an adult and will cost about 6 dollars), and dishes range from 30 – 70 RMB. Guests can satisfy their stomachs with 60 RMB (about 9 dollars). The menu has been translated into English, thus you can easily understand them. As the restaurant is full of visitors during dinner time, it would be better for you to avoid the peak hours.

The restaurant has 6 branches in Beijing among which the most popular two are the Andingmen and Dongsi branches. It’s an ideal option for tasting both the representatives of Chinese cuisine and old Beijing cuisine. You can search “馅老满” on your map app to get more details about how to get there.
