Beijing Railway Stations

Beijing, the capital of China, is also the transportation hub. There are 5 railways stations in Beijing receiving visitors from all corners of the country. Three of these railway stations occupy irreplaceable position of public transportation of Beijing.

Beijing Railway Station

Built in 1955, the Beijing Railway Station is one of the most important stations of the China’s railway network. It is located within 2nd Ring Road, Dongcheng District in urban Beijing. Trains for northeast China Region, Shanghai, Shandong Province depart from this station. In addition, it boasts international railways toward Moscow in Russia, Ulan Bator in Mongolia and Pyongyang in North Korea.

Beijing West Railway Station

Opened in 1995, the Beijing West Railway Station is quite young compared to the Beijing Railway Station. It is located at Lianhua East Road, Fengtai District. It was the largest railway station in Asia at the time with an area of 510,000 square meters. The station is the start point of two import railways in China, Beijing-Guangzhou and Beijing- Kowloon. It is also the port where trains leave Beijing for most cities in China.

Beijing South Railway Station

Beijing South Railway Station is a large railway station in Fengtai District, Beijing.

It serves as the terminus for high-speed trains on the Beijing–Tianjin Intercity Railway, Beijing–Shanghai High-Speed Railway, the future Beijing–Shenyang High-Speed Railway, and Beijing–Tangshan Intercity Railway. Some China Railway High-Speed (CRH) sleepers to and from Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing, and Suzhou also depart from (or arrive at) this station.
