Kong Yiji Restaurant in Beijing

2017-07-31

Named after one of Lu Xun's tragic characters, a failed scholar who is bullied and ridiculed in his local inn, the Kong Yiji's specialities are zuixia (drunken shrimp), served alive in a bowl of wine, and dongporou, a fatty port dish as tasty as it is unhealthy. Wash it all down with yellow rice wine (huangjiu). An authentically Zhejiang style bamboo grove leads into the restaurant. This place does a brisk business so you may need to book.
