Tian’anmen Square
Standing in the center of Beijing, Tian’anmen Square is the largest city center square in the world. It can accommodate a grand rally of one million people. The square contains the Monument to the People’s Heroes and the Mausoleum of Mao Zedong. With the Great Hall of the People on the west, the National Museum of China and the National Museum of Chinese History on the east, as well as Zhengyangmen and the archery tower - two ancient buildings built in the 14th century - on the south, the square is magnificent with its grand symmetrical style. On both sides of Tian’anmen Square, there are Working People’s Cultural Palace and Zhongshan Park. These magnificent buildings and Tian’anmen are perfectly integrated into Tian’anmen Square, a great attraction in Beijing.

Mausoleum of Mao Zedong
Located in the south of Tian’anmen Square, Mausoleum of Mao Zedong is composed of the North Hall, the Memorial Hall and the South Hall. The North Hall is where the memorial service is held before seeing Chairman Mao’s remains. In the center of the hall, there is a three-meter high sitting statue of Mao Zedong made of white marble. A giant velvet embroidery depicting the magnificent mountains and rivers of the motherland is hanging on the wall behind the statue. The Memorial Hall is the core of the Mausoleum. Its white marble facade is inlaid with golden characters: “Long live the great leader and mentor Chairman Mao Zedong”! There is a crystal coffin in the middle of the hall surrounded by blooming flowers. The body of Mao Zedong is covered with the flag of the Communist Party of China.
