For every tourist, tasting the local cuisine is a very important part besides sightseeing. We have listed some snack streets in Beijing which offer almost all kinds of Beijing snacks.
Yandaixie Street (Skewed Tobacco Pouch Street)
Yandaixie Street, also known as the Gulou Snack Street, is the oldest twisting street in Beijing. Located in front of Di'anmen Outer Street’s Gulou, northeast of the Qianhai of Shichahai, Yandaixiejie Street is scattered along with delicate souvenir shops, as well as many traditional Beijing snacks. Among them, Wangpangzi Donkey Burger is a must-try snack. The chopped donkey meat is placed within a crispy roasted bread pocket together with green pepper. Taste it with a blow of millet congee would be great. In addition, tourists could buy dairy products from Meiyuan Shop, a famous brand of the Beijing Sanyuan Food Co. Ltd, such as Meiyuan cheese and almond tofu, a soft, jellied dessert made of almond milk, agar, and sugar.

At the same time, Muslim restaurants including Zhengxingde Tea House, Jubaoyuan Hotpot Restaurant, Hongshunxuan and Nian Gao (a Chinese New Year's cake made from glutinous rice) Qian are liked by ethnic Hui people.
