Built in Sep 2004, Yongdingmen Park has more than 138,000 square meters green lands. The ship-like green land and the Yongding Gate add beauty and radiance to each other. The park was awarded as one of Beijing’s the boutique parks in 2016.
Yongdingmen was the former front gate of the outer section of Beijing's old city wall. Originally built in 1553, it was torn down in the 1950s to make way for the new road system in Beijing. In 2005, the Yongdingmen was reconstructed at the site of the old city gate. This new gate is disconnected from the original road leading towards the gate and into the city.
Yongdingmen Park is a key element of the “Cross Sightseeing Spots”, and this is why it called “Longmai” “Tianjie” (The Street of Heaven). There is a small square inside the garden whose floor shows the inside culture of this place.
