Haidian Museum was built in May, 2003, affiliated with Culture and Heritage Commission of Haidian District. It is a newly-built comprehensive museum majoring in local history.

Haidian Museum integrates of acquisition, collection, research and exhibition of cultural relics to protect all kinds of historical relics, carry forward the culture of the region's history, strengthen regional cultural exchanges and promote the construction of spiritual civilization. It committed to protecting and collecting of cultural relics unearthed from the region, at the same time to carry out the protection of cultural relics of scientific and academic research.

It showed Chinese great history and brilliant culture to public at home and abroad through holding permanent exhibitions and theme exhibitions. It also introduces the change of history of Haidian District and social development. Meanwhile, it regularly holds various art exhibitions at home and abroad in order to meet the growing spiritual and cultural needs of people in Haidian District.
