Temple Fairs in Beijing can date back to the Liao dynasty and are called “Shangsi Chunyou” and were expanded in the Yuan and Ming dynasties. The temple fair of the Miaofeng Mountain originated in the Ming dynasty. Every April 1 to April 18 of the lunar calendar, there would be thousands of people who come here to celebrate the temple fair.
The traditional temple fair of Miaofeng Mountain started over 300 years ago. According to the record of the Qing dynasty, the Miaofeng Temple Fair was so popular that you could hardly see people in downtown because they all went to the fair.

Miaofeng Temple Fair was interrupted by wars but now the temple fair has reopened and added some new interesting projects. It becomes one of the special temple fairs of Beijing now.
