China Railway Museum is the professional technological museum of railway system sponsored by the Ministry of Railways. The initial mission of the museum was to carry out the work of cultural exhibition, film, exhibitions, model making of railway. In September 2003, the Museum of Science and Technology of Ministry of Railways was renamed China Railway Museum. Under years of development, its functions have changed into a professional museum that integrates various collections, conservation, research, exhibition, and other museum functions.

A variety of real objects, models, photos, charts and multi-media make a detailed introduction of the development of China Railway in the past century. The museum is divided into three exhibition halls: Zhengyangmen Hall, Dongjiao Hall, and Zhan Tianyou Memorial Hall. The office area of the museum is located in No.1 building of No.2 house in the Maliandao South Street.
