The Former Residence of Lu Xun in Beijing is a small courtyard house. Lu Xun (1881--1936), whose real name is Zhou Shuren, born in Shaoxing, Zhejiang province, is one of the most famous litterateur in China. He lived at the residence between May 1924 and August 1926. The decorations of the rooms still remain their original appearances. Located east of the courtyard is Lu Xun Museum, where large scrolls of his manuscripts and legacies are stored.

This is an exquisite little courtyard house, where three rooms stand in the south and north respectively, and one room in the east and west respectively, and they all remain their original appearances. The room in the south was the reception room, the two rooms in the north were where his mother and Mrs. Zhuan lived, and the one in the middle was the kitchen of the house. One smaller room in the north that only covered an area of 8 square meters was once the bedroom and study of Mr. Lu Xun. The decoration of that room was simple. The room in the east was converted into an exhibition room.
