The Palace Museum in Beijing holds over 1.8 million cultural relics, says Shan Jixiang, curator of the Museum.
Along with the cultural relics, the Palace Museum, also known as the Forbidden City, displays 10 thousand of them in over 70 exhibitions every year, reported The Yangtse Evening Post.
Almost all (93%) of the Museum relics are important heritages listed under national protection, Shan added.
With 9,371 buildings, the Palace Museum was the imperial palace for 24 emperors. Three quarters of the palace buildings are already open to the public and by 2025, the public will be able to enter 85% of the palace buildings, Shan noted.
