Authorized by the State Council, the State Production Base of the China Film Group was funded by eight units in 1999. Completed and put into running in July 2008, the State Production Base of China Film Group received much attention and strong support from leaders of the Central Government, the State Administration of Radio, TV, and Film, relevant ministries, the surrounding communities, and the Beijing municipal government during its construction and operation process.

Located in Yangsong Town, the State Production Base of the China Film Group is the largest film and TV production base in Asia. With an area of 800 mu and total developed area of 150,000 square meters, the State Production Base of China Film Group has a total investment of nearly 2 billion RMB. It focuses on film pre/post-production, and integrates filmmaking, audio recording, digital postproduction, animation production, games production, equipment leasing, and optical disc production etc.

In the base there are 11 total zones. With serving pre and post-production at the core, it is a film production plant with mutifunction that integrates movie and television photography, sound recording, TV digital making, animation, equipment leasing, CD manufacture etc.
