More than one billion yuan (144 million US dollars) worth of cultural and creative products a year are now sold by the Palace Museum in Beijing, also known as the Forbidden City, according to China National Radio.
The Palace Museum, a renowned World Heritage Site with a history of more than 600 years, has attempted in recent years to change its serious image through the development and promotion of creative products.
The museum now sells more than 8,700 creative products and accessories. The museum's online stores have also gained tremendous popularity among shoppers.
