Covering an area of 35,000 square meters, the Chinese Museum of Women and Children is located in the north side of East Changan Avenue. It is the first national museum on the social changes concerning women and children.

The museum contains more than 30,000 exhibits depicting ancient, modern and contemporary women, celebrating international friendship and women's art, and showing changes and contrasts through the ages in women's apparel. Museum exhibits also include children in ancient, modern and contemporary times, their toys and pastimes.

The Chinese Museum of Women is subordinate to the All-China Women's Federation integrates collection, exhibition, research, education and culture exchange. It set up 6 permanent exhibitions and 5 special exhibitions.
