Beijing is a city with a long history and rich culture. As time passes by, some culture sites are still here with us and now let’s get to know some cultural sites in Chaoyang District.

Dongyue Temple

The Dongyue Temple has a history about 600 years and it was burned down in a war in the end of the Yuan dynasty and rebuilt later. After many times of expansion, the temple became the largest temple in north China.

First built in 1319 of the Yuan dynasty, the temple was founded by Zhang Liusun and his apprentices. It was finished in 1323 and was given the name - Dongyue Renshou Palace by the emperor. Combined by the main yard, the east yard, and the west yard, the temple faces south.

Transportation: Take Bus No. 110, 109, 420, 750, 855, 858, 112, 846, or 101 to the Dongyue Temple or take Subway Line 6 to Chaoyangmen Station (North Exit).

China Ethnic Museum

China Ethnic Museum is a museum that restores, collects, and exhibits the culture and relics of 56 ethnic groups of China.

As a key member of the International Council of Museums, the purpose of the museum is to exhibit the architectures of a variety of ethnic groups; protect the relics of every ethnic group, expand the culture of different ethnic groups and so on.

Transportation: Take Subway Line 10 to Beitucheng Station or take Subway Line 8 to Olympic Green and walk to the south
