Fahai Temple, built in 1439 by Li Tong, a famous eunuch in the Ming dynasty, has a history of more than 572 years.
Located near the Shouyi Moushikou Street of Tuoling Passage, the out-gate is at the foot of mountain and there is a small path to the temple. After passing the Kong Bridge, you’ll see the Fahai Temple standing in front of you.
Fahai temple is a 4-courtyards building that is symmetry. There are Hufajingang Hall, Tianwang Hall, Daxiongbaodian Hall, Yaoshi Hall and Depository of Buddhist Texts. With the elegant design and fantastic pattern, this temple shows the phenomenon of the loyal family.
The pattern of the temple was designed by officials both from Ethic Han and Tibetan together which made it as a sign of the culture exchange between the ethic Han and Tibetan and this is the only one in the history of Beijing’s temples.
