Prince Yi's Mansion is located in the north side of West Changan Avenue, west of Fuyou Street. It is the mansion of Yongxuan, the eighth son of Emperor Qianlong of Qing Dynasty. Now it is the culture relic protection site of Xicheng District.
Yongxuan, the eighth son of Emperor Gaozong of Qing Dynasty, was ranked to Duke Yi in 44th year of Emperor Qianlong. He died 88 years old in 12th of Emerpor Daoguang with posthumous title of Shen. Mianzhi, his first son inherited his title of nobility. Thus it was also called Duke Yi’s Mansion.
It was orignally the mansion of Geng Zhongming with 341 rooms. Now it ranges from the west of Fuyou Street including the Bureau of Culture and Telegraph Building. At the end of Qing Dynasty, the Ministry of Mail Boat and Ministry of Finance were established in this site. Yuqi, the later generations of Prince Yi moved to Qigong Mansion in the north side of Xizhimen Street.
