Located at Qianhai of Shichahai Area, Guo Moruo Memorial was previous house of Leshi Darentang, one family focused on Traditional Chinese Medicine. Le donated his house to the New China and the house was devided into two parts. The east part and the No. 5 of Xisi Courtyard became the house of Guo.

Guo Moruo (Chinese: 郭沫若; pinyin: Guō Mòruò; Wade–Giles: Kuo Mo-jo; November 16, 1892 – June 12, 1978), courtesy name Dingtang, was a Chinese author, poet, historian, archaeologist, and government official from Sichuan, China.

As a ginkgo lover, Guo had moved a ginkgo tree from Dajue Temple in 1954 and named it “Mother Tree” to hope his wife Guo Liqun get well soon.
