1. Jiugukou Natural Scenic Spot

Jiugukou Natural Scenic Spot covers an area of more than 10,000 mu with forest coverage of over 85%. With all manner of animals and birds inhabiting the area, it boasts a good ecological environment. It is the largest camping ground in Beijing. The scenic area is encircled by mountains topped by stretches of the Great Wall. Featured with theme camping, there is an Indian Campsite, Arabian Campsite, Travelers Campsite, Self-drive Campite etc. Each one has its own merits, not only it has the exotic beach, campsite in the jungle, but also there are tent “post” for travelers and self-driving car equipped with water supply and sanitation facilities, lighting as well as barbecue equipment and a scouring bathroom.

Transportation: Take Bus No. 936 or 916 to Jiugukou at Dongzhimen

2. Shijinglong Tent Park

In winter it is a ski resort, while it turns into a tent park in summer, the first tent park in Beijing. The tent park, is an outdoors leisure park featuring tents and camping facilities. With open field and rugged terrain, the park can accommodate hundreds of tents having picnics, camping, and barbecuing simultaneously. It is a great choice for taking your family to relax over the weekend in the tent park. If you don’t have a tent, you can rent tents in park- double tents and triple tents are also available. The sleeping bags in the park also can be rented.

Location: Zhongyangfang, Zhangshanying Town, Yanqing District

Bus Route: Take Bus No. 919 and get off at Yanqing Bus Station, then transfer to take No. 920 and get off at the Ski Resort and walk 500 meters to the destination.

3. Baihebao Reservoir

Baihebao Reservoir boasts the highest elevation in Beijing. The water from the Baihebao Reservoir is drinking water storage for Beijing area. The Baibao Reservoir is densely forested with 85% greenery coverage. While camping by the shallow beaches around the lake, you can enjoy the stunning views of the Ming Dynasty Great Wall on the mountains by the reservoir. It is an ideal place for camping and fishing.

Add: Xiangying Village, Yanqing District

Self-driving Route: Drive alongside Jingchang Highway and steer out of Xiguan, Changping District, then drive straight towards Ming Tombs and turn left at Changling Crossroad (heading to Yongning)-Yongning, Yanqing-Liubinpu-turn left at the crossroad of Guihuamu National Geological Park, then turn left and head to Baihebao Reservoir.
