There are buses to Fragrance Hill from downtown Beijing. But the bus stop is a little far from the Fragrance Hill, so you need to walk for a while before you enter the Fragrance Hill Park. There are many boutique shops along the path, so you would not get bored when you are walking.

The Fragrance Hill has a history more than 800 years for it has been Traveling Palace in the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties. The Qianlong Emperor had given this place an artistic name – Jingyi Garden and it became one of the “Three Mountains and Five Gardens” of that period.

Most of us may only know this place as Fragrance Hill Park rather than Jingyi Garden for it is a place where is for citizens hiking and exercise here in their leisure time rather than for emperors’ holidays.

The park is known to all for red leaves here. It is said there would be more than 80,000 people one day to come to appreciate red leaves in that period. There is not only the mountain but also Biyun Temple and Shuangqing Villa attract many visitors.

The highest peak of the Fragrance Hill is only 557 meters, so it is suitable for most of visitors hiking.
