Qipanshan Scenic Spot is located in Wayao Village, Liucun Town in Changping District. It lies at the junction of Haidian District, Mentougou District and Hebei Province, belongs to Taihang Mountain. Overlooking the layout of Wayao Village, its width resembles an enlarged chessboard that embodies the wisdom of the ancients. Traditional Fairy Temple Fair: Fairy Temple in Qipanshan commonly known as an Empress Temple, was built on Lunar April 8, Jiajing 43 years in the Ming Dynasty, so it has a history of more than 400 years. Per legend, Wayao Fairy Temple and Miaofengshan Empress Temple are sister temples. Every Lunar April 8, the temple regularly holds series of activities such as giving thanks to the mountains, relief porridge, tea and steamed buns and artistic performances, which have become unique and positive folk activities in the suburbs of Beijing.
