The Great Princess Mansion was originally located in Dongcheng District and was changed to the mansion of Emperor Xianfeng’s daughter in the 8th year of Emperor Tongzhi reign during the Qing Dynasty. Later, this mansion was transferred to the eldest daughter of Prince Gong. Since then, it has been named Great Prince Mansion (Great means first in the special situation in Chinese).
In 1985, the Great Prince Princess Mansion was moved to the Baihe Suburban Wild Park in Miyun county (today’s Miyun District) and can be divided into five parts: Gate Hall, Main Hall, Sleeping Palace Gate, Sleeping Hall and Back Building.
In the Republic of China, the princess’s descendants lost their power and wealth and the mansion was later owned by Jixiang Opera House and changed to Beijing Chinese Medicine Hospital in 1956. Later, the Great Princess Mansion was rebuilt in the Baihe Suburban Wild Park outside the west city gate of Miyun county seat and covers an area of 21,000 square meters.
