The traditional Chinese indigo-dyed cloth plays an important role at an exhibition at the Museum of Chinese Garden and Landscape Architecture.
All the cloth exhibited here are from Nantong Indigo-Dyed Cloth Museum. These 200 items exhibited at Beijing are detected from 26,000 objects collected in the museum which are the representative of the Indigo-dyed technology in ancient times.
These cloth are saved from the Ming and Qing dynasties. 80% of these items are being shown to the public for the first time.
Indigo-dyed cloth is the traditional blue cloth, some of them are white ground with blue patterns and others are white patterns with blue ground. The latter is the most common one.
