Lingshan Mountain Natural Scenic Spot is located to the northwest of Mentougou District, 122 kilometers away from Beijing. Standing at 2,303 metres, Lingshan Mountain is regarded as the highest mountain in Beijing, known as “The Ridge of Beijing”. Due to its elevation high above sea level, Lingshan Mountain is renowned for its dislocation as a mountain, magnificent mountain peaks as well as vast area of flowers and plants cover an area of 25 square kilometers.
It has unique natural landscape and the climate is unpredictable in the summer. Not only it is the home to warm temperate zone vegetation, but has the vegetation similar to that of the Siberian tundra including as azalea, lilac, white birch, filbert, hemerocallis miner and rose etc. It is famous for alpine meadows and is the only natural breeding farm for fine-wool sheep, yili horse, Qinghai-Tibet yak in Beijing.
The flowering phase in Lingshan Mountain starts from the end of June and the beginning of July and lasts to September. Hiking the mountain in summer, you will appreciate the flowers all over the mountains and plains. A natural landscape, unpredictable weather and clouds swathing the mountain make it a worldly paradise.
