In the summer, what else should you do if you feel you've easily missed water activities - some of the most exciting tourist attractions? The Gold Sea Lake (Chinese: 金海湖; pinyin: Jin Hai Hu) is now among the three most exciting places for summer water activities, the other two being Jingdong Grand Canyon and the Stone Forest Gorge.
The Gold Sea Lake covers the largest water area where water activities are available and is about 85 km away from downtown Beijing. The most appreciable characteristic of it I think should be the lake view; it is vast, cool and awe inspiring. This is because the lake is surrounded by mountains on three of its sides. This guarantees that anyone visiting the lake can have a good visual-feast of the green and may become enchanted in the natural and relaxing environment. Visiting this lake, you can practice three activities.
First, cruising the lake on the boat. Visitors coming here can get on a small traditional boat to view the beauty of the lake and board a big cruise to experience the charms of the lake.
Second, viewing the lake from above. Inside the lake park there is a smaller park named Saw-Tooth Cliff Park in which a path of 6.1 kilometers leading to the top of a mountain has been chiseled away especially for tourists and mountain climbers. Definitely reaching the top, you can have a panoramic view of the mountains and the lake. In addition, overhead sliding cables for brave guys are also available. Bind yourself on them with belts and safety equipment, and then rush down!
Third, taking a free walk. If you think you are a man of nature, never miss the farm inside the park, which is located in the Buddhist Halo Garden (佛光园). You can take a free walk here or gather your friends, close family or other relatives together to start agricultural activities.
