1. Guangxi (广西), Yinzi Cave or Silver Ingot Cave; Chinese: 银子岩

The Silver Ingot Cave, being a typical karst landform, runs through 12 mountain peaks and has multiple stories. Stalactites growing from different geological eras can be found in the cave. These stalactites look translucent and white and are like the Milky Way cascading from the heavens. They illuminate like silver ingots and even feature the shining beams of diamonds. Therefore, it is called “Silver Ingot Cave”.

2.Beijing (北京), Shihua Cave or Stone Flower Cave; Chinese: 石花洞

The Stone Flower Cave, located in Nancheying Village, Hebei Town, Fangshan District, Beijing, is about 50 km away from downtown Beijing. It is also named Qianzhen Cave (潜真洞, literally meaning a cave full of truths) or Shifo Cave (石佛洞, literally meaning Stone Buddha Cave), which formed out of the mountain folding that happened 70,000,000 year ago.

3. Hubei (湖北), Baima Cave or White Horse Cave; Chinese: 白马洞

It is said that when Master Tang, Monkey King, Pig Spirit, Monk Sha and White Dragon Horse (five main characters of the novel Journey to the West), heading for the Old India to learn and carry back Buddhist sutras, stopped by this place, the White Dragon Horse once stayed inside the cave. Therefore, this cave was named after the legendary horse.

4.Guangxi (广西), Ludi Cave or Reed Flute Cave; Chinese: 芦笛岩

5. Chongqing (重庆), Furong Cave or Lotus Flower Cave; Chinese: 芙蓉洞

The Lotus Flower Cave is another large limestone cave which formed about 1,200,000 years ago. The deep side of the cave maintains a steady temperature of 16.1℃; the heights of the inside cave are between 8 and 25 meters and the highest part can reach 48.3 meters; and the total area of the cave floor is 37,000 square meters.
