Marco Polo Bridge also known as Lugou Bridge that was built in Jin Dynastry (1189) with 826 years’ history. It is 266.5 m in length and 7.5 m in width, supported on 280 pillars on both sides that caved with 485 lively lions. It is the extant oldest and longest multi-arch stone bridge.

Today, the Marco Polo Bridge has preserved the original form undergone repairs many times.

It holds a very special place in the modern history of China, and more for painful memories rather than either its stunning beauty or amazing architectural achievement. It was here on this bridge that the eight-year-long War of Resistance against the Imperial Japanese Army commenced on the 7th July 1937.
