Bada Hutong is the most well-known among the many hutongs of Beijing. It was the antonomasia of the red-light district in Beijing, and called by a joint name of Bada Hutong. In fact, Bada Hutong has eight hutongs including Baishun Hutong, Yanzhi Hutong, Hanjiatan, Shanxixiang, Stone Hutong, Wangguangfu Xiejie (now Zonglvshu Xiejie), Zhujia Hutong, Xiaoli Shama Hutong (now Xiaoli Hutong). The eight hutongs is a famous romantic place, where the Chuntai Theatrical Troupe, Xiaoxiang Pavilion, Shihua Pavilion, Yixiang Hookshop renowned brothels at that time were scattered across it.

Certainly, the famed prostitutes such as Su San, Xiao fengxian, Sai Jinhua were residents of Bada Hutong. Now strolling through one of the hutongs, you can also see the ruins of the brothels, as if feeling the busy scenes at that time. In addition, Yunguban, where Xiao Fengxian once lived in, has now become the Shaanxixiang Hotel.

Baishun Hutong: located in the southwest of Dashilan

Yanzhi Hutong: south located in Zhushikou West Street, north located in Baishun Hutong

Hanjiatan Hutong: located in the southwest of Dashilan, Qianmen

Shanxixiang: south from Zhushikou West Street, north to Tieshu Xiejie

Wangguangfu Xiejie: east from Dali and Xiaoli Shamao Hutong, west to Stone Hutong

Lishamao Hutong: north from the west street of Dashilan, northeast of Xicheng District
