The well-known Silver Street in Beijing is located on Dongdan North Street (东单北大街), stretching as long as 2.7 kilometers. Different kinds of shops on the street are numerous, ranging from clothing stores to jewelry stores, to household goods stores, to bakeries, to restaurants, to cinemas, and to hair salons. Each one is different, and it is a pleasure to take a walk down the street to experience window-shops.

The area also has traditional handicrafts such as cloisonné, bronzes, paintings, and carvings. Another famous handicraft, snuff bottles, can also be found on Silver Street. Genuine snuff bottles from the Qing Dynasty are a desirable item for serious collectors.
