So they went into a small village and asked a villager for food. The villager asked his daughter to prepare dinner for guests. Though wearing in worn-out clothes, the little girl who is about 13 or 14 was very clean and cute. Before long, the little girl severed them with some noodles and sweet potatoes which were really delicious.

When they left in the next day , they found the girl was much more lovely in the daylight. The emperor liked the girl so much that he said to the father, “ I would love to be your daughter’s god-father if you like.” The villager agreed. Then the emperor gave some money and a handchief to the girl and said ,“ You can come for help if you encountered any difficulties”.

A famine occurred several years later, the father and the daughter can hardly survive. At that time, the sick father decided to go to Beijing and asked the god-father for help. Fortunately, they encountered one of the minister of the emperor who recognized them. They were surprised to learn that the god-father is the emperor. The minister took them to the palace and told the emperor that he should help them. However, the emperor had already forgot the whole thing. He arranged a palace for the girl and her father roughly.

The sick father was died after several days they moved to the palace. The little girl was despised because she was of humble origin. She missed her father so much that crying day after day. Before long, she cried herself sick. However, no one cared about her until she died. After her death, the emperor did not pay any attention to the burial.
