Located in garden-style Olympic Sports Center, Ying Tung Natatorium was built in 1986 for the 11th Asian Games. Covering an area of 38000 square meters, it can accommodate 6,000 spectators. With unique architectural style, it has advanced equipment, facilities as well as comfortable environment. Moreover, the water treatment system in Ying Tung Natatorium boasts advance that the water quality are disinfected by the chlorine and ozone, filtrated multilevel by natural quartz marine sand, which conforms to the international professional standard.
Served as the venues for water polo and modern pentathlon in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Ying Tung Natatorium named "Ying Tung" was the largest natatorium in Asia at that time that was built for Beijing's successful bid to host the 1990 Asian Games donated 100 million HKD by Henry Fok Ying Tung who is the late Hong Kong businessman. In addition, it was the special swimming venues for World University Games in 2001.
